IMPORTANT CHANGES FOR LINWOODS CUSTOMERS
The
internet has changed the way we shop,
So
we have restructured our business to give you
Internet prices but with local, personal service!
Due to our
need for larger repair premises in a better suited location, and due to the
changes our industry is facing and the changes of how consumers now want to
shop, I have decided to improve our online presence, and make our website and
our telephone lines the first point of contact.
Please use these
methods in the first instance.
- We
continue to supply new products & accessories, face to face, by
appointment.
- We
continue to offer a professional installation service
- We
continue to offer a professional repair service
- We
continue to offer professional advice and help with your product
- We
continue to have bricks and mortar premises, in the local community
With so many people
now having to work longer hours, and with the current economical conditions,
it is not feasible for a customer to have to take a day off work, or have to
wait until the weekend to receive a call out for a repair or to have a new
product installed.
This is why Linwoods
have launched their NEW repair service, (inspection fees apply)
- This
service offers same day call out between 8am and 8pm, 7 days a week.
- Collection
then delivery and reinstallation of the product are at no extra cost.
Moving forward, there
will be three key areas for what Linwoods can offer:
- Fast
and efficient repair service, to many consumer products, of all brands.
- Supply
of new products with or without professional installation
- Professional
installation service, regardless of where it was purchased, including
retune & setup of existing products, WiFi and home networking.

PFHS Golf Day
On Monday the 12th November Linwoods proudly sponsored a local schools charity fund raising day. The Parents & Friends of Holywell School, Upchurch, Kent, held a Golf day at Gillingham Golf Club. The day was well supported by many of the Dads from the school plus several school governors. Linwoods provided the green fees and some raffle prizes, and with all other prizes being donated, a great sum of money was raised for the school.
Adam Webber, a product trainer from Panasonic, came down to show off the new Panasonic GH3 Lumix camera which is due for release on 1st December 2012. He took many pictures of the players on the 1st tee which are available for you to see on this site. If you would like a high res copy of them, please send us an email.
Thank you to everyone who helped this day be the huge success which it was.
Feel free to view some of the photos that were taken during the day, these have been split into the teams for the day :
5th October 2012
This
update will run every weekend from 10:00 am each Friday until 09:00 am each
Monday until further notice.
To
update the set, select a BBC HD channel. Thereafter the software should automatically install once the update has
been accepted by the user.
Important
Note
Please
be aware that, although the set displays a message that the download will take
around 20 minutes, it is more likely to take around 40 - 45 minutes. During the
update process please ensure that the TV is not operated or turned off. Once the
update is complete, a confirmation screen will be displayed.
20th September 2012
Be advised that a signal being transmitted today (Thursday 20th September) on
terrestrial FreeView may cause a reappearance of the "disappearing BBC Channels"
issue on Panasonic X10 / C10 TVs, which occurred last month. The signal should
commence at 1:00 am and only those TVs actually switched on at the time will be
affected. Any sets switched on after 1:00 am will not be affected. Should a TV
encounter disappearing BBC channels, simply turning off by use of the mains
switch, waiting for 30 seconds and powering on again, should resolve the issue.
In order to bring all receivers up to the latest version of software and
prevent reoccurrences of recent issues, there will be a range of over air
downloads for both the X10 / C10 series and the C5 / U5 / X5 series of TVs over
the coming weeks. Please ensure all sets are updated when prompted.
7th September 2012
On 28th August, we
were made aware that on certain Panasonic Televisions, BBC channels on Freeview
(terrestrial) were intermittently disappearing and a "No Service"
message was being displayed. This only seemed to affect X10 & C10
models, both LCD and Plasma operating on older versions of software.
Our investigation, in
conjunction with the broadcasters, highlighted a conflicting signal being
transmitted. This resulted in the Freeview BBC channels intermittently
disappearing on the X10 and C10 models. The conflicting signal was removed,
allowing these sets to correctly receive the BBC channels on Freeview.
In order to help
prevent a reoccurrence, we suggest all such TVs are updated to the latest
software. This can be done by end users themselves by downloading the software
and following the instructions here (http://bit.ly/O15oAb ). In addition an over-air download is planned
to commence on 7th September 2012 and continue for a period of 3 days. To
update the set, select a BBC channel. Thereafter the software should
automatically install once the update has been accepted by the user.
We thank you for your
patience while we investigated this matter and your continued support of our
brand.
